Waiting list/Reservations/Deposits:

You are welcome to be put on my no-obligation waiting list for a particular breeding or notification for future breeding’s.  Just email me and let me know to add you to the list.

Reservations are made by personal email or phone call on a first come first serve basis after approval by us.  We will start taking deposits once we announce the intent to breed a pair.  In order to hold your spot on the reservation list the amount of deposit required is $300.00.  Your deposit is applied toward the final price of the puppy.  Puppies will be chosen in order that the deposits are received*  Please note that deposits are non-refundable so please make sure this is the breed for you before you reserve and pay a deposit.  No puppy will be reserved and held without a deposit being paid by the purchaser.  Deposits are non-refundable but are transferable to another litter with written approval by us.  Deposits can be made by personal check but the check must have time to clear before the puppy is 6 weeks old. Otherwise, cash, a cashier’s check or money order is required.

*Please note: We reserve the right to withhold purchase of a certain puppy if we feel that you and that particular puppy are not a good match based upon living arrangements/activity level, etc.  Please understand that this is for the good of all involved.  We do not want you, or the puppy being in a situation that both are doomed to fail.  Our goal is forever, happy homes for our puppies!

Testing:

Between 6 - 7 weeks of age, our puppies are temperament tested through the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test. (www.volhard.com) Testing helps us to determine which puppy would be most appropriate for each new puppy buyer. For example, therapy dog work, conformation, obedience etc.

Shipping:

Airline Shipping:   Shipping is not included in the price of the puppy.  Puppy, crate, health certificate for flying, and shipping charges must be paid for in full, with a personal check, postal money order/cashier’s check, cash (if local so that I can issue you a receipt) no later than 2 weeks prior to shipping.  We will ONLY use Continental Airlines/United Airlines for shipping.  Breeder will make all arrangements.

Shipping will take place between the 8th and 9th week birthday.  Please be prepared to accept your pup in this time frame.  You will know as soon as I do when your pup will be arriving.  I will consult with you before making flight arrangements.  Shipping charges are variable therefore cannot give an exact amount until reservations are to be made. Shipping charges include airfare within the continental United States/Canada, a size 200 crate (new or used if I already have one) a signed health certificate from the vet and transportation to the airport.  If the pup has outgrown the size 200 crate and/or gained enough weight to put them over the weight limit for an 8-9 week old puppy then an additional charge will be added to purchase the next size larger crate to cover the additional airfare.

The airlines have very strict requirements on crate to puppy sizes.  Scheduling flights is difficult at best.  Many factors come into play when shipping puppies – a big one being the weather.  We will try to accommodate your schedule as much as possible but sometimes this can’t always happen due to extenuating circumstances.  Please be aware and accommodating as well.  I will take care of all arrangements regarding shipping.  Another thing to note:  Our puppies are over the size requirements to be taken on a plane as a carry on.  This request will not even be considered as we have run into problems before with buyers picking up their puppy and then getting to the airport just to be told the puppy can't go in cabin with them.

Car Transport Shipping: Occasionally if a buyer lives close enough we can deliver a puppy or meet you at a destined spot for a fee.  Inquire if you are interested.

Late pick-up of puppies:
We know that in some cases you are not able to pick up your puppy at the 8 week mark or a few days after. If the puppy is staying past the 8.5 week mark we may charge a boarding fee of $125.00 a week or any portion thereof.

Remainder of Payment:
Final payments are to be made by the time puppies are 6 weeks or prior to picking up your puppy.  I will let you know the final amount before pick up day.

Warranty/Contract:
Please ask and I'll send you a copy of my contract.
Included with your puppy is a 1 year hip/elbow warranty.  In regards to the warranty, I do not require that you return your puppy in the event there is an issue.

Vet Visit:
I suggest that as soon as you know when you will be getting your puppy that you schedule a vet visit.  Vet check- ups must be within the first 3 (three) working days of pick up/delivery of your puppy if you are getting the health warranty.  If you do not take the puppy to the vet within the 3 (three) working days the hip/elbow portion of the contract become null and void so this is a very important appointment.

Pet Insurance:
I recommend and suggest that all puppy buyers consider purchasing a health insurance plan for their new pup.  I don't suggest this because I breed unhealthy puppies but because it is the responsible thing to do as a dog owner.   Please see the Health Insurance link for more information.  I personally carry it on my dogs, as do many of my puppy owners.  You will be surprised at how reasonable the cost is.  With the rising cost of vet care, Pet Insurance helps you pay your unexpected veterinary bills, so if your pet has an accident or becomes ill, you’ve got help covering the costs.  It can also give you good peace of mind, knowing that you can afford to provide the best quality medical care for your pet.
